Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Apollo, owned and operated by Apollo Learning. By accessing or using UG Apollo services, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and all applicable laws. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

1. Eligibility

  • You must be 18 years or older to use UG Companion, or have verified parental/guardian consent.

  • By using the service, you confirm that:

    • You trust Apollo Learning to process your data securely in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

    • The information you provide (credentials, WhatsApp number, etc.) belongs to you, and you are legally entitled to provide it.

    • Your use of Apollo doesn’t violate departmental or institutional policies.

2. Service Description

Apollo is an independent, third-party service that provides:

  • Automated retrieval of academic updates from Sakai (read-only access).

  • Summarization of announcements, assignments, quizzes, and exam schedules.

  • Delivery of notifications and reminders via WhatsApp.

  • Exam venue mapping and directions.

⚠ Apollo Learning is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the University of Ghana or its ICT Directorate.

3. User Responsibilities

By using Apollo, you agree to:

  • Provide information that belongs to only you (credentials, WhatsApp number, etc.).

  • Keep your credentials secure and not share your account with others.

  • Use Apollo only for personal, lawful, academic purposes.

  • Report any suspected security issues immediately to [email protected].

You must not:

  • Use the service for illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.

  • Attempt to disrupt, hack, or reverse-engineer Apollo.

  • Misuse data retrieved through the service (e.g., reselling or republishing).

  • Impersonate another student or share login details.

4. Intellectual Property

  • All software, systems, and content created by Apollo Learning remain our intellectual property.

  • You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Apollo for academic support.

  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute Apollo without prior written consent.

  • University of Ghana trademarks, logos, or marks are used only for reference; Apollo Learning does not claim ownership.

5. Disclaimers

Apollo is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, 100% accuracy, or error-free operation.

  • Notifications depend on third-party services (e.g., WhatsApp, Sakai availability, public timetables, and other info published publicly ), which may affect delivery.

  • Apollo Learning is not responsible for incorrect login details, institutional downtime, or user negligence.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law:

  • Apollo Learning’s total liability to any user is limited to GHS 100 per subscription or the minimum required by law.

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including missed deadlines, lost grades, or service interruptions.

7. Termination

  • Apollo Learning may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or misuse the service.

  • Upon termination:

    • Your data will be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.

    • You will no longer receive notifications or access UG Companion features.

8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.

  • Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Accra, Ghana.

  • Before legal action, parties must attempt amicable resolution by contacting [email protected].

9. Changes to These Terms

  • Apollo Learning may update these Terms to reflect legal, technical, or service changes.

  • Updates will be posted at ug.apollolearning.org/terms.

  • Continued use of UG Companion after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
